Learn-A-Bird

     A guide to the birds and their songs of the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck of Virginia.  Pages written by “Webfoot”  with the support of Virginia Cooperative    Extension, King and Queen County Office.

     The Northern Cardinals above are one of the most common year-long residents of our area.  The female on the left, and male on the right are seldom very far apart.  His main song is the background call that  announces this web page.  See the special page for all calls and additional details of life history.

     Future pages will include, Birds of the Forest, Birds of the Fields, Birds of the Water, and so forth.  Then when approximately 60 to 100 are provided, other categories such as Birds of Prey. Gulls and Terns, Little Brown Birds, Migrants, etc can be grouped accordingly.
